Getting a tad tired from taking so many flights and long bus rides now.. all within 9 days:
Flight count: 3
Long bus ride count: 4
Running about so much makes me feel like I'm part of the Amazing Race (Ozzy version). Speaking of which, I don't remember any leg of the race being held in downunder?
Nevertheless, we're in Cairns now and it's beautiful.. We had a decent Ozzy lunch as well, pastas, seafood platter and soup!
My favouritest favourite - pumpkin soup!
Seafood platter mmm
Bolognese Spaghetti
BUT to our horror today, my sis and I discovered that... Brace yourselves.. THE BEACHES WERE CLOSED COS OF STINGERS. Seriously?? :( We headed to "the lagoon".. expecting paradise really, but we were greeted by a baby pool (like the one at Vivo City's rooftop?) and tons of screaming kids. Please, do NOT visit Cairns for its beaches during summer. But defo do it for the Great Barrier Reef (Ahh TOMORROW! :))
The "Lagoon"..
My sistuh, dissuhpoint
So we walked bout town, desperately seeking for something to do (since our plans were revolved around mainly the beach and the sea). Thank goodness we found a bike rental place and that really saved our day :) Biked for about 2 hours by the seaside, some mangrove areas and through a botanical garden, which was really different from Singapore's botanical gardens (it's like a nature reserve park rather than a botanical gardens).
One of the Botanical Gardens' pond, where apparently a saltwater croc has been spotted before!
We had oysters again for dinner as well.. and that really did save it :)
Yet another dozen oysters for dinner <3
Spaghetti Marinara
Avocado salad
Apparently, that's how Singaporeans look -_- lol
Parties in Cairns are well unforgettable.. So make sure you join up with the Ultimate Party Bus to truly experience them!
